Electricians and Electrical Instrumentation Technicians (Kalgoorlie based)

Fields E&I are seeking expressions of interest for suitably qualified Electricians and Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians for Project, Maintenance and Contract Based roles in the Goldfields area. Opportunities exist within the Company for the right personnel to develop their career to the next level as our Company grows.

About the Canidate
These roles will suit those with a proactive and highly conscientious work ethic. Candidates with a proven work history in the mining, construction and heavy industrial fields, with experience in fault finding, general trouble shooting, As Building of Brownfields Installations, HV Installations and Instrumentation will be looked upon favourably.

Qualifications & Experience

  • WA Electrician’s Licence – Unrestricted
  • Current unencumbered Drivers Licence
  • Minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship electrical work experience – Mining, Heavy Industrial or Construction
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Proven ability to adhere to safe working procedures.
  • Excellent fault finding and planning capabilities.
  • Certificate IV Instrumentation as well as experience in the field (desirable)
  • PLC and Control Systems fault finding (desirable)
  • HV Switching Certificate and experience with HV Installations (desirable)
  • National Police Clearance (or ability to be issued NPC) for site entry requirements.
  • Have the ability to pass employment and Client medicals as well as Drug and Alcohol screening (random/scheduled)
  • Senior First Aid
  • High Risk – Current EWP Ticket
  • High Risk – Forklift Ticket (Desirable)
  • Safe Work at Heights Qualification (within 2 years)
  • White Card

Prospective candidates should be locally based or prepared to relocate as this is not a FIFO role. These positions will be on a 5/2 roster with occasional weekend work and shift coverage requirements. Competitive remuneration for the role will be offered dependent on the candidates experience with allowances applied for works at remote sites where overnight stays are required.

Senior Electrical Engineer (Kalgoorlie or Perth based)

The role would suit a self-motivated, enthusiastic, autonomous, self-managed person, who likes challenges, problem solving and is looking for a role within a growing, dynamic, engineering consultancy. You will work collaboratively as part of the engineering team and must have strong communication and team leadership skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a tertiary electrical engineering degree recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia
  • Minimum of 7+ years of design/consultancy experience within mining or heavy industry
  • Display a high level of organisational, communication, teamwork, and time management skills
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Australian electrical engineering standards, legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with electrical design for HV substations in accordance with relevant Australian standards.
  • Experienced with HV and LV system design (Protection System design, Arc Flash assessment, power system studies, Type 2 coordination etc.)
  • Knowledge of Control Systems and programming.
  • Excellent at developing quality design documentation and calculations to relevant standards (Scopes, Specifications, ITP’s, Work packs, Technical Reports, Drawings, Cable Schedules, Cable Calculations etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a meticulous and methodical approach.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experienced in supervising and mentoring Engineers/Junior Engineers.
  • Computer literacy skills sufficient to operate common Microsoft 365 packages,
  • Experience in drafting using MicroStation, AutoCAD packages.
  • Proficient with PowerCad, DIgSILENT, ELEK Safe Grid software packages.
  • Testing and commissioning experience for HV Switchgear, LV MCC’s, and Switchroom auxiliary equipment would be advantageous.
  • Configuration experience for Protection Relays, VSD’s, Instrumentation and Control Systems is viewed favourably.
